Too Hot

It's been really hot here in Califorina, that for a few days I just haven't been posting because I was finding ways to keeping cool.

This past Sunday my sister and I went to San Diego for the comic book convention but we had a few bumps in the road. Our train was late, it was too crowded, and we didn't see or get what we were searching for. But I did find two Charles deLint books that I'm happy to report I have. Into the Green and The Fair in Emain Macha. The book fender who I go to for the books gave me a good price for them. Also I picked up some Witchblade and Fathom plus a few X-Men. So we walked away with a few things.

I just got the top done for the sweater now on to the sleeves, and I bought some yarn for Tall Mouse to make a shrug that I've tried making before. I'll be posting those pictures soon.

storm

So at 2 a.m. in the morning a storm was coming through in Southern California and our dog was scared and thunder just wouldn't stop. So that was fun waking up and comforting her. It was also hot when the storm was passing going into the mountains.

Now it's hot again but at least the storm isn't coming through anymore. So since it's been so hot I've been knitting becasue it's been so hot and uncomfortable. I think I'm making progress with the sweater.

yarn

Right now I'm trying to spin what's left to spin before I begin the Moncha, but it's hard staring at the new yarn that's calling out to me to spin.

Right now California is having all of these fires and the weater is just getting worse. Yesterday I went to Dana Point with my Dad, sister and the dog. It was cooler down there and with very few people around which was nice because you really had a chance to enjoy the scene.

And let's hear it for cables! I'm on the cable part of the sweater so it's coming along now that I know what I'm doing.

Have a good weekend.

Time off

You can't believe how good it feels to have time off from school. Last night I went to the knitting group and brought what I've been working on and finished. During summer school class I finished the second sock, I'll be posting the pictures hopefully tomorrow, right now my Dad has the camera.
Also I got some help on the sweater I got the measurments wrong so I had to takw out a few rows to get it right. But I believe I'm now the right track now. Also my hat is coming along.

I'll be posting pictures soon.

World Cup

Well Germany lost to Italy, it was a good game with two overtimes and Italy just nailed Germany. It's a big thing in this house, we've been taping the games for quite a while and my Dad just can't wait to see whose going to be in the finals.

Well Happy 4th everyone and go Italy!

Happy 4th!

It's a mircale! Our friend J.R. fixed the card reader so now I can show you my drop spindle. I have two now, and I purchased the second one from, From Singapore with Love. I found her through Knitters Review. The spindle is a Thomas C. Forrester, it's called the Blossom.

I love it so far, I've been practicing with it and I've notice that the yarn has become longer. My final is tomorrow so I'll be studying for that today and part tomorrow before the test then I'm free from summer school!

These pictures I'm posting were taken by my sister Emily so here they are:
