News update

Reidents of New Orleans can return to their homes. Mayor Nagin said however, services are minimal and residents from certain areas could only collect their belongings and assess damage to their homes. Downtown New Orleans will be open to store owners and the French Quater will be open the following Monday. Officals plan to have a computer system working to track residents coming in and out of New Orleans by their Soical Security number, birth date and address.

The death toll has risen to 558. Most water is undrinkable and the military personnel are still running a 911 system. Mean while Hurrican Ophelia attacked the Outer Banks of North Carolina. On Thursday night Ophelia was down graded to a tropical storm. It's been estimated that 48,000 homes and businesses were without power in eastern North Carolina.
